Many women see their monthly bleeding as stressing and annoying. In ancient times, many traditions and cultures used to celebrate the transition of a girl into a woman, with her first period. And it is no coincidence that the words used for menstruation were synonymous with holiness and supernatural ability.
The Mayan culture believed that there is no greater time for a woman to embody her divine feminine power than during menstruation and her menopause. It is also interesting that in Sanskrit the word for menstruation is the same as the word for era- ritu and the first measurement of time, the first calendar was based on the menstrual cycle of women, i.e. the cycles of the moon.
Have you ever thought that menstruation is the right time to incorporate your feminine power, expansion and creativity? The four seasons of our cycle, like the four seasons that alternate on earth, vibrate with different energies each other, a different dynamic of fertility of earth and our body,
The idea is that this seasonal cycle holds the essence of power, the circularity of our nature, healing and creativity, if we learn how to harness it, which can help balance our well-being. When we look at what each season represents - release - growth - power and action - introspection - we can clearly see how this relates not only to our female cycle, when we go through premenstrual tension and our energy levels rise and fall as the hormones permeate our body.
And when we harmonize and respect the forces of nature that manifest in our feminine body, then we can experience the space with less conflict and all the symptoms of pain, knowing that release will come again once the blood comes. And then ready to be reborn for a new beginning in our next cycle.
